PMO Planner – 4 Month Contract – Outside IR35

Our client requires a PMO Planner to play a key role in ensuring the successful governance and delivery of major project. Working within the PMO team, the planner will use their extensive MS Project skills to ensure planning standards are met, and that risks and issues to timelines and resource levels are flagged early to Programme Management. The planner will work across multiple workstream level plans, a programme level view, and a joint resource pool all in MS Project.
Responsibilities:
• Owns the planning standards, governance, and quality assurance of all workstream plans, programme plan and resource pool
• Is seen as the ‘Go To Person’ for all queries on MS Project
• Works across workstream leads and project managers to ensure consistent, high-quality implementation of planning standards and use of MS Project
• Designs and manages the regular plan submission process for QA, SME communication and downstream impacts
• Manages the administration on the end-to-end programme plan, ensuring it is kept up to date
• Tracks against the baseline plan and flags issues for resolution
• Working with the PMO team to track dependencies across the programme
• Working with the PMO team to track milestones
• Flags risks and issues arising from plans, and ensure captured in RAID logs
• Works with PMO Lead to ensure accurate forecasting of activities, resourcing, and timelines, especially for SME demand
• Works with PMO team on triaging plan data against status reports, to ensure accurate reflection of progress
• Works with PMO team on deliverables tracking for key checkpoints and stage gates, ensuring the workstream plans have activities that cover key deliverables
• Produces summary level views of the plan for governance and stakeholder reporting (plans on a page)
Skills / Experience required
Essential:
• MS Project especially application
• Able to QA individual plans
• Able to model change to resource or timelines across top level plan
• Stakeholder management and relationship building
• Able to contextualise information from plans for impact across programme
• Ability to be in Southampton 3 days per week
• Able to secure BPSS Security clearance
Desirable:
• ERP Experience
• BI Reporting experience relates the use of MS Project
