Our client is a leading distribution business in its field at the beginning of a major business transformation covering people, process and technology. They have the ambitions to double their revenue by maximising existing business streams and entering new markets.

With extensive current work to deliver and new projects in the pipeline, they are seeking a BI Analyst Developer to assist.

The main purpose of the role is to work with the full suite of tools within MicroStrategy to help the business make data driven decisions. This will be right across the business for the end-to-end distribution of products for warehouse to retail store. The reports and insights will tell the business (and customers) what products are selling best, where, when, what promotions are working when stock needs replenishing and many more features.

Previous MicroStrategy experience is not required but a willingness to train and develop your capability with it is. They are willing to take a recent graduate with a good qualification in a Data, Computer Science, Maths or Statistically related degree or someone with 2-3 experience in BI and Reporting. For that it would need to be a SQL Writer based Reporting tool such as Business Objects or Tableau and with a SQL background too.

Experience:

  • Graduate with a 2:1 qualification or better in Computer Science, Data/BI or Maths related

  • Commercial experience of SQL and a BI Reporting tools such as Business Objects or Tableau (not just Power BI)

  • Analytical mind and a “problem solver”

  • Ability to understand and interpret complex data

  • Solution driven approach to overcoming obstacles

  • Ability to convey complex analysis to a lay audience

  • Understanding of databases and best practices around them

  • Takes ownership

  • Strong planning & organisation skills
