Our client is the largest of its kind in Europe and has also expanded into North America, Canada in particular. The business has formed as a Group, made up of lots of individual businesses of varying size. To bring the business together, various Transformation programmes are ongoing for HR, Finance and Digital.

As part of a Finance Transformation programme, they have decided to implement Oracle Fusion across the business (General Ledger to start with). They are right at the design phase and building a team to cover all areas which includes Master Data Management Lead, Data Architect, Data Engineer and Power BI Developer.

They currently do have a data warehouse where key systems including Finance and their practice management systems (that run their business) feed into and there are currently reports being produced with Power BI, but the data warehouse is going to be re-engineered and the finance data will be fed into Oracle Fusion in time to the new data warehouse.

This role is to lead the Architectural design of how the data will be pushed through from Oracle Fusion to the data warehouse and the Reporting requirements for all financial data. This is a strategic role, reporting up to CFO’s, other stakeholders, collaborating with a Big 4 Consultancy, guiding Data Engineers and Power BI Developers but also requires some hands-on Data Engineering still where required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous and current experience in Data Engineering working with Finance Data

  • Design and Architecture experience for Reporting Requirements and Data Engineering requirements for Finance Data

  • Some experience working with an ERP. Oracle ERP (Oracle Fusion) or previous versions of Oracle include Financials and EBS would be preferred but any ERP is fine.

  • Data Engineering Projects using Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Factory.

  • They will be moving to Lakehouse and Azure Databricks so any experience of this nice to have

  • Mentoring and leadership experience of small teams delivering data engineering and reporting including exposure to Power BI

  • Enterprise level business experience able to demonstrate experience doing this for another company.

  • Experience working with and updating senior stakeholders.

  • MUST be able to work in Bristol area 2-3 days per week and rest remote.

This is a great opportunity to join a thriving company and in the early stages of a high exposure finance transformation programme.
