Business Analyst

About the Role:

Our client are a market leader in their sector and we are seeking a motivated and analytical Graduate/Junior Business Analyst with a strong focus on data as part of a wider Digital Transformation Programme. This role plays a critical part in enabling the business to make better data-driven decisions, improving both operational and strategic outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1–2 years of experience in a Business Analyst role, coupled with ideally a Master’s or MSc in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science or a related field or of a BSc or Bachelors then need to have that in Data and have BA experience with Data already.

You’ll work closely with data teams, stakeholders, and business units to understand data needs, shape reporting requirements, and help embed a culture of data-informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders to gather, define and document data-related business requirements.

  • Map and analyse current data processes and identify opportunities for optimisation and automation.

  • Translate business questions into analytical requirements and work closely with data engineers and analysts.

  • Support the development and delivery of dashboards, KPIs, and business reports to improve performance visibility.

  • Collaborate with IT and Data teams to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and governance.

  • Assist in defining and implementing data strategies aligned to the digital transformation goals.

  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder engagements to drive data-led initiatives.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Master’s or MSc in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a closely related field or a Data focussed BSc Degree.

  • 1–2 years’ experience as a Business Analyst working with data and/or in data-rich environments.

  • Strong understanding of business process analysis and the data lifecycle.

  • Experience with data tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SAS) and working knowledge of databases or SQL.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills, able to translate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with Agile

  • Comfortable working in hybrid environments and travelling to the Cambridge office 2 days per week.

Desirable:

  • Experience contributing to or working within digital transformation programmes.

  • Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
