Our client is a leading retail sales, marketing and distribution company working with prominent publishers and iconic brands.

The IS Department is responsible for running and enhancing core systems and building new applications that manage their business end to end. They manage the distribution of 1000’s of products for 40,000+ Retail outlets.

Some systems manage the Supply Chain and Logistics and others provide vital data insights on sales performance for each title in each store, predicting trends and when to replenish stocks and much more. The business is also expanding to provide new lines of merchandise to retail outlets and are going through Transformation to support this.

As part of this transformation, we are recruiting a Head of Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • To introduce DevSecOps to the business

  • Lead and Mentor a Team of Developers and take on this journey

  • Solution Design

  • Code review and code changes where required

  • Enhance existing and create new applications that manage data and incorporate AI

Tech Environment:

  • C# (.NET)

  • Python

  • SQL Server

  • Kubernetes

  • Containerisation

  • Azure

You will have been a Developer/Software Engineer previously and now have a number of years experience as Development Manager/Head of Engineering Leading and Mentoring Teams with Dev Ops/DevSecOps working with above technologies.

You will have Solution Design experience, can code review and change code where required.

The role requires 2 days per week in the Cambridgeshire office and the rest can be worked remotely.
