Remote/Bristol | £ Neg – We want to reflect the market for the right level

Role Title:
Product Owner

Role Type:
Permanent

Location:
Remote, then Bristol, possibly international

Description:
Our client has their HQ in The UK but is made up of multiple businesses spread across various countries in Europe. They are currently updating a number of systems with a key one being their Practice Management System, however the same system is not being rolled out across all businesses across Europe, each country and even separate groups within each European country will have the ability to select their own PMS but with key guidelines from HQ (including Reporting data) that needs to be sent back to the UK with some standardised features. We therefore have a role open for a Product Owner (not of the Digital Agile Product Owner kind) but one that will take ownership over liaising with the international businesses to help them implement a PMS of their choice + other systems but that meets the requirements of HQ in the UK.

This will require liaising with each Country and the various groups of businesses, to help them identify and deliver core products/systems.  This will require capturing requirements for the business, helping select vendors and then overseeing the implementation of systems either through in house teams and/or managing the vendors. This will require a robust nature but also persuasive skills and an ability to work with technical teams as well as business functions such as finance. Key aspects of these systems need to align to requirements from HR on reporting of finance, debt, standardising some prices on items and so on.

Requirements:

  • You will have held a similar role before where you have had to take ownership of business systems to make sure they are rolled out across various business units to meet specific requirements.

  • You will have experience of selecting and managing 3rd party vendors to make sure they deliver and also internal technical teams.

  • You will be responsible for capturing business requirements and converting to functional and technical specifications.

  • You will be commercially minded, and keeping abreast of technology change to meet the business needs.

  • Strong on governance and documentation

  • Robust to deliver but also persuasive.

  • International experience useful but not required. Experience of multiple businesses within a company would be or more interest due to complexity.

The client is based in Bristol but the role will be remote for the next few months, then a blend of remote and in the office and assuming Covid 19 eases, quarterly travel to European countries but this will be limited.
