Our client is the largest of its kind in Europe having grown quickly over the last few years through positive acquisition. They are working towards creating a shared service centre for all their employees, running IT, Payroll, HR, Finance and other services centrally. They have 22,000 employees in 20 countries with Bristol as their headquarters.

Within Finance, rather than having all countries managing transactions locally, they are looking to create a shared service centre where all accounting and finance transactions are managed centrally. There is ongoing work to rationalise both operational and commercial processes for this and they now want to be in a position to more effectively collate data from multiple data sources to assess overall company performance and success within all areas of the business and produce reports and dashboards. We now need 2 Power BI Developers to assist with this.

This is an exciting opportunity as nothing is currently in place across Finance. There is an existing data warehouse where the IT team work with Power BI and Power Apps but this is greenfield for Finance. Data will be engineered and architected elsewhere to structure how data is collated from their Accounting system, expense system, payroll and HR and also their Practice Management System hosted in the Data Warehouse. Your role will be to analyse this data and set up coherent reports with Power BI that gives the business operational and commercial information for practice to practice and country to country.

To deliver this role, you must be technically proficient in the use of:

  • Microsoft Power BI to create end user reports.

  • Database development, including the use of T-SQL (Microsoft SQL server) to query underlying data.

  • Microsoft Power BI Administration with Low Level Security

Additionally, the role holder must be able to demonstrate:

  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a track record of creating business value from complex, murky, data sets.

  • Strong visualisation skills, with an intuitive feel for how to present data to non-expert audiences in a way that drives understanding and the right outcomes.

  • A robust understanding of the Power BI architecture, and the available approaches to deliver reports securely over a multi-tenant business environment.

The role will be based remotely and in the office 1-2 days per week or fortnight and will be working across a large and busy transformation programme.
