Our client is a high-end provider of Electronic Point of Sales Systems into the Retail and Hospitality Sectors. This includes Hardware, Installation, Software Development, Integration and Consultancy services. They are a 100 person strong Group with presence across Europe, but with 3 main sales channels in Sweden, Finland and The UK. Everything is managed in-house.

As these sectors have started to improve again and to support a growth plan within the business, they are now looking for a Director of Operations with Hands on Project Management skills.

This role will sit within the senior leadership team and report into the CEO. It will oversee Solution Design and Delivery, Helpdesk Support, Product Development and Project Management, however this role will also require hands on Project Management initially. As time goes on you will recruit into this role. The role is therefore a blend of Operational management and improvement, and Project Management Delivery.

Skills they are looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience of improving end to end operational processes for the delivery and implementation of Technology Solutions

  • Experience of working for an EPOS provider would be highly desirable, but otherwise working for a company that delivers technology into the Retail and/or Leisure or Hospitality Sector is essential

  • Strong Project Management skills for Technology projects to fill a gap until you recruit this person. This will be strong Task Management, resource planning, RAID logs, etc.

This role will form part of the CEO’s senior leadership team. It is a great opportunity to review existing operations to make delivery and support more refined and quicker. As a Project Manager and then overseeing project management, you will be able to influence improved practices to help make this organisation more profitable, which will create bonus opportunities.

They have offices in Gloucestershire, Reading and Leeds. It would be useful to be near to one of those to liaise with teams, however the 2 other Senior Managers (CEO and Head of Business Development) are Southwest based so the ability to meet up there would be useful. However, your team with be spread across areas including Kent/Bracknell so that would also be useful, but your location can be flexible. Most of this will be remote with some travel.
